If this treatment if so effective, why doesn’t my
doctor know about it?
The DRX9000 is relatively new in Minnesota. There are
over 500 systems throughout the U.S., many in surgeon’s
offices. The DRX9000 and DRX9000C were FDA cleared for treatment of disc
and facet joint injuries in 1998 and are well utilized on the
east and west coasts, Florida and Texas.
Many doctors in Minnesota have not been introduced to this breakthrough
technology yet, and sadly, many patients who could benefit
from treatment may not know about this opportunity. It will
soon become the first treatment of choice for back injuries
and disc degeneration. Encourage your doctor to
visit our web site Referring Physician section
for information and clinical research studies about the DRX9000 and DRX9000C.

Every day new technologies are being developed to treat
many health conditions and injuries. Years ago, knee
surgery required the patient to be in a cast for months. Today
the patient walks out the door right after surgery. Now, with
the DRX9000™, we are able to repair injured discs without
the risks associated with surgical procedures. There are no
side effects to the spinal decompression treatment, it's non-invasive, so the DRX9000™ or DRX9000C™ should be tried first! Call

How do I know if I am a candidate for this treatment?
Not everyone with low back or neck pain is a candidate for spinal decompression.
During your consultation, Dr. Andrews will answer all your questions and review your x-rays and MRIs/CTs (taken
within the last 16 months) to determine if you are a candidate. Remember,
the consultation is FREE!
Can I continue to work while I undergo treatment?
You are allowed to perform regular daily activities providing
they do not aggravate your existing condition. Repetitive
forward bending, lifting, twisting, housecleaning and sitting
for extended periods are to be avoided. If your job requires
physical or repetitive activities, you should consider taking
some time off work. Remember, surgery requires you to avoid physical
activities for months and you are usually unable to work for
My pain isn’t that bad yet, can I wait a few months
or a year to start treatments?
Too often, excellent candidates for spinal decompression decide
to postpone or completely reject treatment because their pain “isn’t
that bad”. Pain is simply your body’s warning system
telling you something is wrong. When you ignore this signal,
like ignoring your car’s “check engine” light.
We rarely postpone a trip to our mechanic because we know that
driving with something wrong could cause extensive and expensive
damage in the future.
Choosing to ignore pain or masking it temporarily,
often with dangerous drugs, does not address the cause of your
pain or eliminate it. Delaying spinal decompression
treatment for lower back or neck conditions because the pain “isn’t
that bad” may lead to further damage that eventually
cannot be repaired with spinal decompression therapy or even

I have seen other clinics' newspaper ads and TV commercials. Why should I consider Minnesota Spinal Decompression Clinics over another clinic?
Several local clinics have purchased spinal decompression systems since we began offering this treatment in December, 2004. Our sole purpose and goal in having this system is to improve our patients' health and well being. It is important to compare wisely, as more "imitation" spinal decompression machines are being purchased.
Many of our local colleagues are also purchasing the DRX9000 system for helping their patients. You should receive similar treatments since the system is the same. However, not all clinics offer exactly the same convenience, additional services, comfortable settings and costs. Some clinics are even using marketing practices that do not let you talk to a person, deluge you with "junk" mail, and pressure you to act immediately or you will lose your opportunity.
At Spinal Decompression Clinics of Minnesota, we understand that whether or not to try spinal decompression is often a very difficult, somewhat frightening decision to make. We don't feel it is appropriate to pressure a potential patient into making a decision before you are comfortable with it. We will never use "pressure sales" to market our services or inundate you with mail or phone calls. You may speak with us directly by simply dialing our numbers. We are happy to talk with you! We will never tell you there is a "waiting list" for our service and you must act now or lose out.
Our mission is to educate you and provide you with the treatment you deserve to help you live a better life. We will discuss your situation with your radiologist or health care provider if necessary, to ensure that this is the best treatment for you. We do not hesitate to refer you to surgeons or other appropriate providers if we don't believe you are a good candidate for spinal decompression. We only accept patients that we believe we can truly help.
We are happy to sit down with you and your loved ones in a free consultation to review your situation, answer questions, discuss your concerns and demonstrate the DRX9000 at no cost or obligation to you. In return for meeting with you, we ask that you take a look at our web site and review the information before coming in. If you are only looking to compare costs or services, just let us know on the phone and we will be happy to provide the information to you. Our approach is based entirely on patient education and appropriate care that is best for relieving your pain.
Is spinal decompression covered by insurance?
Similar to LASIK procedures that have helped thousands of people
to see without glasses, spinal decompression is not yet covered
in Minnesota by Medicare, Medicaid, MinnesotaCare or the HMOs
(Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Minnesota, Medica, HealthPartners,
PreferredOne). If you have a flexible spending or HSA
account, you may use it to pay for this program. We provide several
financing options for
I have met with other doctors who use the DRX9000. They told me they can submit some of this treatment to my insurance company and I will only have to pay the difference. Do your clinics do the same?
Unfortunately, since Spinal Decompression is still relatively new, there is no federally assigned ICD code (billing code that uniquely describes this service) for non-surgical spinal decompression (NSSD). Some clinics providing the DRX9000 treatments have attempted to submit charges under different codes in order to get reimbursement. This is inaccurate billing and our clinic policy has always been that we will not compromise our reputations, our integrity and ethics, or our patients for profit.
Additionally, you will find that Spinal Decompression Clinics of Minnesota provide education, additional therapies and services that are specific to your needs all included in the cost of spinal decompression. Many other clinics bill you for services such as chiropractic care, therapies and ice packs. We do not. We have found that our services cost $500 - $1500 less than other clinics. We want you to research spinal decompression, compare facilities and staff and make the decision that is best for you and your well-being. We are happy to provide you with information regarding costs, simply ask us!
